The IP agreement includes provisions governing the management of IP, including the establishment of an IP Committee, as well as obligations relating to lab notebook maintenance, confidentiality and publication.

Governance
The Institute’s partners also participate in the management and governance of the BDI. The Industry and University partners have representatives on the Executive Committee – the key decision-making body responsible for the overall running of the Institute, and the IP Management Committee responsible for the overseeing the operation of the IP provisions of the IP Agreement.
The scientific challenge lies primarily in creating miniaturised systems in which the presence of low concentrations of target markers can be reliably detected in small volumes of biological samples.
A team of more than 100 scientists (including as many as 12 researchers from the industry partners) are involved in the programme.
