The BDI brings together leading researchers from academic institutions, companies and the clinical environment to form a complementary, integrated, and cohesive partnership. As the primary goal of the BDI is to develop next-generation biomedical devices, we are able to integrate technology from disparate disciplines to create innovative, diagnostic platforms. Insight from our clinical, industrial and academic partners informs the clinical and commercial relevance of our programmes.
In order to achieve our objective of translating research outputs into clinical application, we have established a comprehensive commercialisation process. Key features of our commercialisation process are as follows:
Throughout the commercialisation process, we work closely with members of the commercial community to maximize the practical utility of our diagnostic platforms. Through licensing, agency-sponsored partnerships, and industry-focused collaborations, we are able to ensure that the expertise and infrastructure of the BDI is making a real impact on transforming the face of biomedical diagnostics.
