ROUTES TO COMMERCIALISATION
Research activity and outputs in the form of enabling technologies or integrated Point of Care system solutions are continuously assessed in terms of their potential to meet unmet clinical and / or commercial needs.

The primary route to commercialisation is through the established processes and channels of our Industry partners in accordance with the terms of our collaborative research and IP agreements.

The model of the BDI does not prohibit commercialisation of our outputs through third parties and, subject to terms and conditions, we will negotiate licence agreements for IP generated from our research programmes as a second route to commercialisation.

The third route is through the formation of Spin Out companies and we actively pursue opportunities in this area. Through our commercialisation process and committee we provide a framework whereby candidate projects for spin outs are identified and we ensure that these projects are supported with the necessary skill sets including Business Development, Intellectual Property, Clinical and Financial Planning.

We currently have a range of commercialisation initiatives going through each of the routes outlined above.
