M.Sc. Biomedical Diagnostics
The
BDI's M.Sc./G.Dip. in Biomedical Diagnostics is the first of its kind in Ireland. It combines biomedical and analytical science with production technology, business creativity, science communication and ethics.
Students also acquire excellent practical laboratory skills and valuable work experience, including a research project that involves working with one of the cutting edge collaborative research groups within the BDI.
Graduates of this programme will have expertise in diagnostic technology and analysis and address the shortfall of personnel in this area.
The Programme comprises:
- Modules that underpin the science and technology of biomedical diagnostics, such as Advanced Immunology, Nanobiotechnology and Genetics
- Workshops with a biomedical focus in the following areas: Ethics, Science Communication, Legislation & Regulation, IP & Commercialisation
- Modules such as Advances in Diagnostic Technology have both academic and industrial perspectives, which is highly beneficial for students
- Stand alone modules and workshops open to those in industry wishing to up-skill in new advances in diagnostics
- Full time (12 month) and part-time (24 month) options available
