Prof. Michael Berndt recently presented a keynote speech at the World Theranostics Congress 2011. This Congress is a leading event that tackles key strategic and collaborative issues facing the Theranostic industry, both today and in the future. The 2011 World Theranostics Congress included representation from big pharma decision-makers, early stage and mid stage vaccine biotechs, government and regulatory bodies and key companion diagnostics companies.

In addition to his directorship of the BDI, Prof. Berndt is a Professor of Experimental Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is Chairman elect of the Executive Council of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. His research interests include thrombosis, inflammation and vascular biology. He has published over 280 papers.
